About MathMath
Write math the way you would on paper. MathMath works it out as you type, keeps your units honest, solves, plots and simplifies, and opens your Mathcad worksheets too. All in the browser.
MathMath is a free, open-source engineering math application with a paper interface. Math, text and plots sit anywhere on the page, and live math reads like handwritten notes: define a value, use it below, and every result updates the moment anything above it changes.
What it does
- Units, checked. Values carry their units through every calculation, and adding metres to seconds is refused rather than quietly wrong. See Units.
- Solving and symbolic algebra. Solve equations and systems, differentiate, integrate and simplify symbolically. See the help for every function.
- Plots, matrices and programs. X-Y plots, vectors and matrices, and small programs with
if,forandwhile, all on the same page. - Engineering functions. Signal processing, Fourier transforms, filters, statistics, curve fitting, and electrical, circuit and RF functions.
- Mathcad worksheets. Opens Mathcad worksheets and saves back to them, where the two agree.
Everything runs in your browser
All the computing happens on your own computer. The server only sends the app's files and does no calculation, so a large sheet calculates as fast as your computer allows.
- Numbers, units, programs and plot data are worked out in a background thread of the page. Symbolic algebra runs in a second thread, in Giac compiled to WebAssembly.
- Your worksheets stay with you: opening and saving use files on your computer, and nothing is uploaded or kept on a server. See Privacy.
Status
MathMath is in early development. You can write, calculate, save and print worksheets, but expect rough edges.
Free and open source
MathMath is made by Pelican Labs, LLC, and is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later. It is free to use, with no account. If it helps you, you can buy me a coffee to support its development.
